You need to have a steady income of Ressources to keep up with the Cost. Since Brimstone is quite easy to obtain, the one who is gathering Brimstone will also gather Hide, so we can craft Leather in the Tannery. We have like 4 Firebowl Cauldrons we dont run out of Steelfire. One is gathering Brimstone, so we can forge our Iron Bars into Steel Bars. You can also build up Large Chests to stock up your Iron Ore to have Iron all the time around, if your base is far away from iron. Two are always on tour gathering Iron ore until the furnaces are full. We have 5 Furnaces for Iron up which are constantly running. This is very Importan! If you have a Tribe of 5-7 ppl this should be easy. At least 4 of us gather a lot more than that.īasically your Furnaces have to run 24/7 !! To answer a couple question, yes, 1x gather rates, and everyone is tasked with providing ore to at least offset the cost of repairing armor and equipment. These will be less, because stone is also gained at some percentage, but the values will be similar. 150 iron ore to repair the pick gives a net gain of 3210 iron ore. Steel Pick: 320 Durability, 10-11 iron per hit. 30 iron ore to repair the pick, is a gain of 1030 iron ore. Assuming only iron is gathered (which it won't, because you do get stone), you'd get around 1040 iron ore. Iron Pick: 160 Durability, 6-7 iron per hit. I know you'll get more per hit with steel, but does the cost of repair negate much of the benefit? Seems like as a tribe (of about 5-7, 1x gather), we're not able to save up much steel as a stockpile, and that's with only a couple of us in steel armor.
